January 8, college football will crown a new national champion. In a matchup many thought would be for the SEC title, which didn’t happen, Number 4 seed Alabama plays Number 3 seed Georgia for the national title. Auburn upset Alabama in the Iron Bowl in the last game of the regular season, sending Auburn to the SEC title game where they would lose to Georgia.
This game will pit teacher versus student as Alabama head coach Nick Saban will go up against his former Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart, who is in his second season as Georgia head coach. We will see if Georgia’s true freshman quarterback Jake Fromm can lead the Bulldogs to their first title since the Herschel Walker era. Can Nick Saban win his fifth title during his time at Alabama? Will the lethal running attack led by Nick Chubb and Sony Michel be effective against the vaunted Alabama defense? With the game a little less than a week away, a question comes to mind. Who will win the national title, Georgia or Alabama?
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Max debate if all-SEC Championship is good for football:
Who will win the college football national title, Alabama or Georgia? Will Alabama win because they are more experienced than Georgia? Or, will Georgia win because they are the better overall team?
