Recently, Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law that prevented states from legalizing sports betting. Previously, the sports betting was legalized only in Oregon, Montana, Delaware, and Nevada. However, this recent supreme court decision will allow the state governments to legalize sports betting.
Some policy analysts believe that this decision will enable the state governments to create an extra stream of income as it paved the way for sports betting – a highly lucrative industry. Whereas, others believe that this decision is bad from an economic perspective.
This scenario instigated a debate over social media regarding whether Supreme Court is right to legalize sports betting?
