Recently, Angela Ponce of Spain has become the first transgender woman to compete in the Miss Universe contest. According to media reports, Ponce, who is 26 years old, defeated nearly two dozen other contestants in Spain to become Miss Universe Spain and win the right to represent that country in the Miss Universe pageant.

Some media analysts believe that Miss. Ponce made history by becoming the first transgender to appear in a women beauty pageant. Furthermore, they argued that this is a good step in the right direction. Whereas others argued that Transgenders have their own beauty pageants, they should not be allowed to appear in the all-women beauty contests.

This scenario instigated a debate across social media regarding whether transgenders should be allowed to appear in the women beauty pageants?
