Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that US military action in Venezuela is an option in the wake of recent violent protests. According to Fox News , Pompeo said that “The President has been crystal clear and incredibly consistent. Military action is possible. If that’s what’s required, that’s what the United States will do. We’re trying to do everything we can to avoid violence”.
The statement received mixed reactions from different sections of the government. Specifically, military officials and Foreign policy experts are casting doubt on the prudence of such a move.
