Recently, Sarah Saunders – the press secretary of President Trump, was kicked out of the Red Hen Restaurant by owner Stephanie Wilkinson. Afterward, Ms. Saunders tweeted that “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so”.
Some news analysts believe that the action taken by Red Hen Restaurant owner is legal, as Supreme Court recently ruled that Businesses can deny services to people who do not align with their beliefs. Whereas, others argue that this action will set a bad precedence, as more businesses will induce discrimination in their service offering.
This scenario instigated a debate over social media regarding whether Red Hen Restaurant owner was right to ask Sarah Saunders to leave due to her political affiliation?
