Recently, President Rouhani of Iran said that “America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars”. President Trump responded by saying that “Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer the consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be cautious!”.

Some media analysts praised Trump’s tweet and said that it reminded Rouhani that America is indeed a superpower and will not tolerate any of the threats made by Iran. Whereas others believe that Twitter is blocked in Iran since 2009, thus Trump’s tweet will have no impact altogether. Furthermore, they also argued that the content of the tweet was not diplomatic in nature.

This scenario instigated a debate over social media regarding whether Trump’s reply to the Iranian Threats are appropriate.
