Recently, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, slammed US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a tariff on steel and aluminum imports. Mr. Trudeau said that these new tariffs are “Insulting and unacceptable” in his recent “Meet the Press” session with American Media.
Some international policy analysts believe that Mr. Trudeau’s stance is justified because Canada is one of the closest allies of US. Furthermore, they also believe that such tariffs could instigate an international trade war. Whereas, others believe that President Trump’s new tariff policy is justified, as Canada is charging tariffs on US products, so why can’t the US impose tariffs on Canadian products?
This scenario instigated a debate over social media regarding whether Mr. Trudeau’s remarks regarding Trump tariffs are justified?
