The FBI and the Mueller investigation are under intense scrutiny after some 300 text messages were released to the press between two FBI officials. The messages between FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and in-house attorney Lisa Page criticize President Trump and other politicians, and include text messages that support Hillary Clinton in her bid for the White House. Strzok was assigned to the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server and the Russian meddling investigation. When these texts were found out several months ago, Strzok was removed immediately from the Russia investigation.
Fox News first reported on the texts December 6. The Department of Justice, in a statement to Politico, said, “As we understand now, some members of the media had already received copies of the texts before that — but those disclosures were not authorized by the department.” In light of these text messages, a question comes to mind. Is the FBI biased against President Trump?
CBS Evening news covering Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testimony about FBI text messages before Congress:
Do these text messages show the FBI is biased against President Trump? Was the FBI favoring Hillary Clinton during the election? Or, are the accusations that the FBI is biased just trying to discredit the investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia?
