Recently, Amal Clooney, the British-Lebanese human rights attorney married to Hollywood star George Clooney, accused President Donald Trump of providing autocratic regimes a “green light” to torture and murder journalists by labeling them the “enemy of the people.”
Some media analysts believe that Amal Clooney is right, citing President Trump’s decision to not take any action against the Saudi crown prince for murdering Journalist Jamal Khashoggi, as an example. Whereas, others argued that Amal Clooney is wrong. Furthermore, they argued that the liberal Hollywood stars, including the Clooney’s, are anti-Trump.
This scenario instigated a debate across social media regarding whether Amal Clooney is right for saying that Trump is giving the regimes greenlight for murdering journalists?
